Let's talk
Community.

Giving back to the community and supporting local causes has always been an essential part of my values both personally and professionally. I'm proud to say that through a series of local events over the past six years we have raised over $200,000 for Birchway Niagara & the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. These organizations support local survivors and raise awareness about the importance of addressing domestic violence on a national level.

Brunch Bid and Bowl

We're excited to be back for another year of Brunch Bid and Bowl. This is Birchway Niagara’s annual celebration that brings together Allies Against Abuse like YOU to raise vital funds for survivors of domestic violence in South Niagara. By participating, you will help provide compassionate, life-saving services such as safe shelter, a 24-hour support line, and counselling—giving women and families the support they need to break free from the cycle of abuse.

You can help Birchway Niagara to reach its goal of raising more than $110,000—enough to keep two safe beds in operation for an entire year and provide 730 nights of safety for women and children in South Niagara.

This year, we are proud to announce that we are the sponsor for Layne, The Auctionista. Ive put a team of bowlers together. You can donate directly to us with the button below. For more information, visit https://brunchbidandbowl.org/

Birchway Niagara

In 2023 when Women’s Place changed its name to Birchway Niagara. While the core of Birchway’s services continue to protect and empower women and children impacted by abuse, the new inclusive name represents a growing understanding that abuse is an issue that impacts everyone. It is also a problem that must be solved by everyone. As Birchway evolves and grows, we will work toward addressing the root causes of abuse, engaging members of our community regardless of their race, age, gender, sexuality or economic status.

RLP Shelter Foundation

Over the past 27 years, we have proudly become the largest public foundation in Canada exclusively dedicated to funding women's shelters and intimate partner violence prevention.

Cambodia Trek for Shleter

October 2025 completed in my 3rd trek for Shelter. For 5 days, I was trekking alongside like-minded colleagues from coast to coast, all in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. We walked towards the picturesque temples of Angkor Wat. I can confidently say I have never experienced heat and humidity like this before.

Thank you. Truly. Because of you and our community standing shoulder to shoulder, we raised $34,414.85 this year to support the vital work of our local shelter. Every dollar came from someone who cared enough to act, and that’s the kind of courage that actually changes lives.

Our year was built on small rooms full of big-hearted people: Boots 4 Birchway, Music Trivia, Vincenza’s Nest to Table, and every quiet online donation made after a long day. And it all led to a week in Cambodia where colleagues from across the country gathered in the thick of the jungle to share stories that were hard, honest, and full of the kind of resilience that can only come from lived experience.

Standing there, listening, it became clear again that the work we do here at home matters just as much as the work happening across the country. Community involvement isn’t a bonus for us. It’s the spine. It’s the part that holds everything upright. This year, you were again part of that backbone.

From all of us, thank you for showing up, for caring, and for helping support the people in our community who need it most. Your generosity reaches farther than you might ever see, but we feel it every step of the way. With gratitude, always.
